An eVisa for Laos is a type of visa that is issued without a physical label (sticker) in your passport. Instead your visa record is held in Immigration Laos electronic visa system. This means you will not have a physical visa label in your passport.

There are many benefits to using a Laos eVisa over other types of visas, however they may not always allow for your specific travel requirements, and therefore you may need to apply for another type of visa. The benefits of an eVisa include:

  • Not required to post/take your passport to the embassy

You can use your Laos eVisa to travel to, enter and stay in Laos for the time and purpose specified on your visa. If you are outside Laos, you may only arrive in Laos on or after your visa start date.
